Separate WB for electronic media finalised

CHITTAGONG, Apr 26 (BSS): Prime minister's information adviser Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury today said the draft of the exclusive wage board (WB) for journalists and employees of the electronic media has been finalised.
He said the draft of the Newspaper Employees' Service Condition Act of 1974 incorporating separate wage structures for electronic media has also been finalised and soon it would be placed in the parliament.
The adviser announced this while exchanging views with journalists of both print and electronic media at Chittagong Press Club (CPC) this afternoon.
Responding to the demands of the journalists, Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, also chairman of the Board of Directors of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS), said the anomalies in the 8th Wage Board Award would soon be resolved through tripartite discussions.
