Serajul joins SEBL as ED

Former ambassador and secretary to the government M Serajul Islam has joined the Southeast Bank Limited as executive director (ED), said a press release.
A professional diplomat, ambassador Islam started his diplomatic career by joining the erstwhile Pakistan Foreign Service.
His two ambassadorial assignments were to Egypt with concurrent accreditation to Greece, Cyprus, Sudan, Ethiopia and Japan.
At the headquarters in Dhaka, he served as director general, South Asia and Far East. He retired from the government service in April 2006.
Prior to joining the Pakistan Foreign Service, ambassador Islam taught Political Science at the University of Dhaka as a lecturer. Mr Islam also undertook Graduate studies in Political Science in the University of Brock, Canada in 1975-1976.
