Setting weekly goals can lead to success all through life

MOST of those who have succeeded in life contribute success to consistent efforts. Efforts put on continuous basis is very much helpful for success in student life as well. It has been observed that most of the successful students who have made very attractive result in exams have studied throughout the whole semester or year. They do not necessarily look for the short-cut ways. The result is very obvious. When they appear the exams, they feel that exam is like a game for them. While appearing the exam itself is a great enjoyment for them, the same task may be burdensome for those who haven't studied regularly throughout the year.

There are students around us who think "I will study just before the exam," "or one month before the exam is enough for my preparation." These type of thinking is really detrimental. In reality, just before the exam, they these students are in tensed situation when they see the length of preparation they will have to take. Ultimately, it becomes very difficult for them to concentrate and so they are unable to take satisfactory preparation for the exam.

For success in studies, a learner needs to be serious and sincere from the very beginning of the academic semester or year. They should make a realistic plan to complete lessons in time. They can make weekly goals as is suggested by Steven C. in his essay 'Your mind can be an ally and greatest enemy'. They should leave no stone unturned to achieve the targets. They always need to keep in mind what goals they need to achieve and act accordingly. Week after week, they need to achieve 100% of their targets.

If they achieve 40% or 50% or 60% of their weekly goals, they need to consider that they have achieved only half of their targets.

Steven C. has put it very nicely in his essay: "How much you consistently achieve in a week is a reflection of how much you'll achieve what you set to do in life."

Achieving targets, and not other worldly affairs, can be their main motto during student life.

Developing such a habit of setting weekly goals and continuous efforts to achieve that will also bring success in later life. Those who will be practising this will be able to fulfil all their goals in life.
