Seven die as bus catches fire

BANDARBAN, Jan 8: At least seven people were killed and another 45 injured in Bandarban Friday when a picnic bus caught fire and plunged into a roadside ditch. Among the dead passengers, five were identified as Rupak Barua, Shova Barua (35), Prakash Badi Barua (35), Happy Barua (32) and Patu Barua (70). Witnesses said the bus caught fire in the Manur Tek area of the Bandarban-Keranihat Road and then fell into the roadside ditch at around 11:30am.
