Seven die of dengue

The number of deaths caused by dengue fever transmitted by mosquitoes rose to 1,348 on Tuesday, with seven more casualties.
Of the new fatalities, 6 were reported from outside Dhaka and one from Dhaka, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The total number of deaths in Dhaka was 810, as stated in the daily update by DGHS.
Additionally, 1,787 more people were admitted to hospital in the past 24 hours until Tuesday morning, including 413 from Dhaka.
The situation of dengue fever is worsening, with a growing number of cases reported from outside Dhaka.
Out of the new cases of hospitalisation, 1,374 were reported from outside Dhaka.
The total number of dengue cases this year has risen to 271,175, with 99,169 cases reported in Dhaka, according to the daily update by DGHS.
The number of fatalities and hospitalizations due to this deadly mosquito-borne disease is the highest in the last 23 years in the country.
The World Health Organization (WHO) states that dengue fever appears to coincide with the rainy season from May to September and higher temperatures in Bangladesh.
