Seven unregistered hospitals sealed off in Chattogram

CHATTOGRAM, Aug 29: A mobile court has sealed off three private hospitals and four diagnostic centres at Banshkhali Upazila in Chattogram
Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Khandaker Mahmudul Hasan conducted a mobile court drive on Monday morning and sealed off the institutions for various crimes including not having valid documents. Upazila Health Officer Dr Shafiur Rahman Majumdar was present during the drive.
The sealed-off institutions are Chambal General Hospital, Chambal National Hospital, Jaldi Matrisadan Hospital, Jaldi Unique Diagnostic Centre, Ma-Moni Diagnostic Centre, Mordan Diagnostic Centre and Mini Lab Diagnostic.
Upazila Health Officer Dr Md Shafiur Rahman Majumdar said that the unregistered institutions including Banshkhali Chambal General Hospital, Chambal National Hospital and Matrisadan Hospital have been initially identified and sealed off.
"Although the owners of the hospitals claimed that they have applied online a year and a half ago and deposited the fees along with all documents for registration. They are yet to receive registration number," he added.
