Seventh Int'l Education Expo begins in city

The seventh "International Education and Career Expo 2007" began at the city's Bashundhara City Complex Thursday.
Conference and Exhibition Management Services Limited has organised the five-day expo.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor SMA Faiz inaugurated the event as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, SMA Faiz said the arrangement of such an international exhibition would not only promote the trade industry of the country but also provide the best career and education guidance to the students of local universities.
Organisers of the expo said the purpose of the fair is to provide the student community of Bangladesh with a unique opportunity to decide their career paths and interact directly with different universities of home and abroad under the same roof and choose which is the best for them.
The participating educational institutions will also avail a better chance to promote themselves and utilise the fair as a medium for direct interaction and counselling with students for spot admission or interview on the expo premises.
About 70 national and international universities in some 90 booths are participating in the education fair this year.
The fair will remain open for all from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm everyday.
