Shab-e-Qadr tonight

Saturday, 27 September 2008

The holy Shab-e-Qadr, a night in which the holy Quran was revealed, will be observed across the country tonight (Saturday night), reports UNB.
Muslim devotees will spend the night on prayer mats seeking blessings of the Almighty for the continued peace and progress of the Muslim Ummah, as the night is considered the most blessed of all the nights of the year.
On the occasion, radio and television channels will broadcast special programmes while newspapers will publish special features, highlighting significance of the night.
President Iajuddin Ahmed and Chief Adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed issued separate messages on the occasion and greeted the Muslims of the world, including Bangladesh.
In his message, Dr Iajuddin called upon the Muslim devotees to pray to the Almighty seeking peace and prosperity for the life here and hereafter as the night is better than a thousand nights.
In another message, Fakhruddin Ahmed urged all to pray for the country's rapid progress and welfare of the people and the Muslim Ummah.
