Shaheed Jewel XI beat Shaheed Mushtaque XI in V Day Cricket

Aminul Islam Bulbul-led Shaheed Jewel Eleven earned a 46-run victory over Akram Khan's Shaheed Mustaque Eleven in the Victory Day T20 Exhibition Cricket match, a regular event of Bangladesh Cricket Board, at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur in the city on Saturday, reports UNB.
BCB has been arranging the match as part of its programme on the Victory Day after the emergence of Bangladesh named after martyred cricketer Jewel and martyred organiser Mushtaque.
Batting first, Shaheed Jewel Eleven scored a huge total of 172 for 3 in 20 overs featuring 148 runs in the 3rd wicket stand by Hannan Sarkar and Javed Oman Belim Gullu.
Hannan Sarkar hammered 82 runs off just 39 balls featuring 10 fours and three sixes and was adjudged man of the match while former national opener Javed Omar Belim Gullu scored not out 71 off 62 balls hitting six fours and one six.
Saiful Islam, Hasibul Hossain Shanta and Jamal Uddin grabbed one wicket each conceding 17, 21 and 22 runs respectively.
In reply, Shaheed Mushtaque Eleven folded their innings on 126 runs for 8 in stipulated 20 overs with skipper Akram Khan making 34 off 29 balls with three fours while Harunur Rashid contributed 30-ball 31 runs with the help of two fours and a six and Mohammad Rafique made 19 runs.
