Shahid Karim joins Apollo Hospitals

Md Shahid Karim joined Paediatric Surgery and Paediatric Urology Department of Apollo Hospitals Dhaka as consultant and coordinator recently.
Shahid obtained his MBBS degree from Dhaka Medical College in 1979 and took extensive training as assistant registrar and subsequently as registrar in various disciplines of surgery in the DMCH. He also worked in King Fahad Hospital in Saudi Arabia as a resident medical officer (RMO) in surgery.
After returning from the KSA, Shahid completed fellowship from BCPS and joined the Paediatric Surgery Department at Dhaka Shishu Hospital in 1991. He was promoted to the post of professor in 1999 and was made head of the department in 2003. He performed many complicated neo-natal and paediatric surgeries and introduced many paediatric reconstructive surgeries in the hospital.
