Shahidul takes over as DG of BWDB

SM Shahidul Islam took over as the Director General (DG) of Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) on Sunday, says a press release.
Prior to his new assignment, Mr Islam was serving as additional director general (eastern region) of BWDB.
He joined BWDB in 1989 as an assistant engineer (civil) in Rangpur Quality Control Department.
During his 33 years of service in this organisation, he worked in various projects, including Teesta Barrage project, capital (pilot) dredging project, and river bank protection projects.
He hails from Dakkhin Nagar village in Chirirban-dar upazila under Dinajpur district. He did his BSc in civil engineering from BIT, Rajshahi (presently RUET) in 1987.
