MADARIPUR, Nov 6 (BSS): Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan said the demand of the opposition leaders for interim election was illogical and unconstitutional.
"The present government has been elected by the people of the country for a five-year term. So, the demand of the opposition has no valid ground," he said.
The minister was addressing a rally here Saturday organised in observance of the 39th National Cooperatives Day.
The minister said the government had undertaken a massive plan for restoring navigability of the rivers. He said four dredgers were working round-the-clock to keep the Kaorakandi-Mawa river channel fully operational.
