Shahjalal Islami Bank AGM held

Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited (SJIBL) Thursday approved 22 per cent stock dividend for the year 2008, subject to the approval of Bangladesh Bank.
The SJIBL held its 8th annual general meeting (AGM) on the day at city's Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre.
SJIBL Chairman Akkas Uddin Mollah presided over the meeting, said a press release.
The Directors' Report and the Audited Accounts for the year that ended on December 31, 2008 were unanimously approved at the AGM.
The meeting also discussed various issues relating to banking policies and stressed on the need for procuring more deposits and making productive investments.
Directors Md Harun Miah, Mohammad Farooq, Abdul Barek, Mohammad Solaiman and Syed Nurul Arefeen retired voluntarily and were re-elected at the AGM.
Anwer Hossain Khan, Mohammed Faruque, Tofazzal Hossain, Md Sanaullah Shahid, Mohammad Hasan and Mohiuddin Ahmed were elected directors at the same meeting.
The directors, shareholders, Managing Director Muhammad Ali, Deputy Managing Director Md Mukhter Hossain and Company Secretary Emran Hossain were present at the meeting.
