Shajahan sued for slur against Tarique

A lawyer has filed a defamation case against Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan for his comments against BNP Senior Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman. Advocate Shamim Kabir, joint secretary of Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum, a pro-BNP lawyers’ organisation, filed the case on Tuesday morning with Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Maruf Hossain’s court. On December 19, Shajahan Khan called Tarique Rahman an ‘insane’ while addressing a press conference in Madaripur town, according to a news agency.
