The world's number one all rounder Shakib Al Hasan is all set to become the highest paid cricketer in Bangladesh's Premier Division Cricket League this season, report BSS.
The mercurial all rounder Shakib continues to enjoy his dream runs as a tug of war is going on between the Dhanmondi-based club Abahani Limited and the powerful new club Gazi Tank Cricketers.
Shakib, who is having an amazing run of luck as he became the Bangladesh captain when skipper Mashrafee Bin Mortaza got himself injured in the very early part of the first Test against West Indies, Shakib being the vice caption took the helm of the Bangladesh team.
He turned out to the like of King Midas, anything he touches has turned into gold. Under his captaincy, he engineered the mighty West Indies to suffer a 2-0 whitewash in the Test series and went on completing the rout by defeating the former world champions West Indies 3-0 in the one-day international series.
He went on to become the man of the series in both Test and ODI series against West Indies. Shakib did not stop there as under his captaincy Bangladesh beat Zimbabwe by a 3-1 margin in the ODI series including the fastest century scored by a Bangladesh batsman in their ODI history.
A cricket source told BSS that Shakib is expected to get an amount of Taka 1.5 million to Taka 2 million after taking a decision to join Abahani or Gazi Tank.
National Opener Tamim Iqbal is almost certain to join Abahani Limited and is expected not to sign for less than Taka 1.5 million.
Alok Kapali fresh from his ICL feat will also be a top draw and is expected to play for Gazi Tank with a signing amount of between Taka 1.2 million and Taka 1.5 million.
