Shakib appeals to BCB to reconsider penalty
Sunday, 20 July 2014
Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has made an appeal to Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to return to cricket. Shakib had been slapped with a 6-month ban by the BCB after he went to play in the Caribbean Premier League, which brought to light a number of other problems including Shakib’s behaviour. The BCB had earlier advised him to appeal against the penalty. Shakib went to the BCB headquarters on Sunday afternoon. Later he told journalists there he asked the board to reconsider the penalty. He also said in the future he will give everything for his country. The 27-year-old had asked BCB President Nazmul Hasan to reduce the ban when he met the board chief personally last Wednesday, according to bdnews24.com.
