Bangladesh's all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan returned to the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in the city on Monday after more than a year, report agencies.
He visited the 'Home of Cricket' in the morning for a fitness test ahead of a five-team T20 league starting later this month.
Shakib's one-year ban for failing to report corrupt approaches ended recently. He returned home last Thursday and sparked controversy by violating quarantine rules.
Meanwhile, national team chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu expressed his satisfaction over the cricketers' fitness after a beep test was held at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city on Monday.
The mandatory fitness test is being held to decide the players' eligibility for the ensuing Bangabandhu T20 Cup. On day one, a total of 79 cricketers appeared for the fitness test. 33 more cricketers will take part in a fitness test today (Tuesday).
"The cricketers are doing well on the beep test. 90 per cent of this group which appeared for the beep test today, had done well," Minhajul said in the city on Monday.
Shakib Al Hasan was also supposed to appear for the beep test on Monday but he finally didn't. Shakib's fitness test will be held tomorrow (Wednesday).
