Shakib denies threatening to quit Nat\\\'l team

Sunday, 6 July 2014

The national cricketer Shakib Al Hasan has denied making any threat to quit playing Tests and ODIs for Bangladesh. He made the comment on arrival at Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) International Airport from London on Sunday morning. Earlier, the ace all-rounder, reported threatened to quit playing Tests and one-day international (ODI)s for the country. A few days ago, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had asked Shakib to return to the country immediately while he was on his way to Barbados to participate in the Caribbean Premier League in the Caribbean (central America). Shakib apparently made the threat after coach Hathurusingha had recently asked him to return to Bangladesh’s training camp on August 1, which would have ended his CPL campaign earlier than he would have wanted. The CPL runs from July 11 to August 16, according to a news agency.
