Shakib doubtful for India clash due to quad tear

Sunday, 15 October 2023

Bangladesh ODI skipper Shakib Al Hasan is doubtful for the match against India due to an injury in his left quad that he sustained during their game against New Zealand, reports Cricbuzz.
Bangladesh team arrived in Pune from Chennai on Saturday to prepare for the big game against India.
Shakib was struggling to bat at one point, and was taken to hospital for a scan immediately after finishing his 10-over quota.
"I am not sure whether he is available for the next game or not, but there is certainly some doubt since he has sustained a slight tear," said a BCB official on Saturday.
The official could not disclose whether the tear is grade one or two but insisted that they are hoping for the best and would be happy if they find him making it into the playing XI for the game against India, scheduled on October 19.
It will be a massive blow for Bangladesh if Shakib misses out due to injury as they are desperately looking to make a comeback after two successive losses respectively against England and New Zealand, after winning the opening game against Afghanistan.
