Shakib joins Abahani to play in Metropolis Premier League

World's number one all-rounder and stand-in captain of Bangladesh Cricket team Shakib Al Hasan joined holders Dhaka Abahani Limited to play in the Metropolis Cricket League, reports UNB.
Shakib, who led the Bangladesh team, in a successful tour of West Indies and Zimbabwe recently, signed a deal with Abahani Limited alongside injury-grabbed Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza at a simple ceremony at the club premiers Tuesday.
Abahani, premier league champions for the last three times, completed quota of three national pool players confirming reliable national opener Tamim Iqbal to play in the club. Tamim will sign deal with Abahani later.
Shakib and Masharafe will get the season's highest remuneration of Tk 20 lakh each while Tamim Tk 15 lakh.
Besides, two ICL playing cricketers -- veteran spinner Mohmmad Rafique and Mahbubul Karim Mitu, wicket-keeper Sahagair Hossain Pavel, opener Ronny Talukder, Rezaul Karim, Nadif Chowdhury and Arafat Sunny also assured Abahani to play for the club.
Sahagir Hossain and Mohammad Rafique will receive Tk 10 and 8 lakh respectively.
Abahani released pacer Nazmul Hossain, Ziaur Rahman and Imran Ahmed.
Dhaka Metropolis Premier Division Cricket League will begin on Oct 10 with Twenty20 league and the one-day league will begin on Oct 23.
However, the inter-club player transfer formalities will be held from Sept 29 to Oct 1.
