Shakib, Mushfiq lead hosts

Friday, 21 November 2014

Bangladesh are 155 for four after 35 overs in the first One-Day International (ODI) against Zimbabwe in Chittagong. Shakib Al Hasan (67) and skipper Mushfiqur Rahim (30) are leading the hosts charge at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium. Shakib’s 27th ODI fifty came off 57 balls that included four boundaries. Earlier, Mominul Haque (31) went back attempting an unnecessary scoop. The left hander went across to leave his stumps exposed as John Nyumbu bowled full to knock them. Mahmudullah (1) fell sending a catch straight to Tafadzwa Kamungozi off Tendai Chatara. Anamul Haque (12) threw his wicket away as he charged at Tendai Chatara. The bowler pulled his length back to force Anamul slice it high up for comfortable catch to captain Elton Chigumbura at mid-off. Anamul was earlier dropped on 9 by John Nyumbu for a tough chance at short fine leg off Chatara. Mominul started off with a boundary behind square off Tinashe Panyangara. Tamim (5) attempted to cut a short ball from Panyangara only to play on to the stumps. Zimbabwe sent Bangladesh to bat on Friday. Mashrafe Bin Mortaza leads the hosts with Shakib Al Hasan as his deputy. Leg-spinner Sabbir Rahman has made debut for Bangladesh while Al-Amin Hossain is back in the side after his action was certified clean by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
