Shakib to join MCC's WCC meeting on Jan 9

Tigers' Test and T20 skipper Shakib Al Hasan will attend the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) World Cricket Committee meeting billed for January 9 and 10, reports UNB.
The world's leading all-rounder Shakib is the first Bangladesh cricketer to attend the meeting with former England cricket team captain Mike Gatting in the chair.
There will be three other new faces -- former West Indian pace bowler Ian Bishop, former Sri Lankan cricketer and umpire Kumar Dharmasena and New Zealand Women cricket team former captain Suzie Bates -- in the newly formed committee (formed in October 2017) in the meeting.
From its inception in 2006, the MCC World Cricket Committee sits in meeting one or twice in a year to discuss different aspects and needs for the development of world cricket, including rules and regulations, before forward its recommendations as proposal to International Cricket Council (ICC) for implementation.
The MCC World Cricket Committee is an orgsnisation of former and current cricketers and umpires work for the development of the world cricket. The second meeting of the committee will be held in Lord's, England on August 6 and 7.
