Shakib to lead Tigers in Micromax Cup ODI series against Zimbabwe

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has named all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan as the captain of the Bangladesh Cricket team for the Micromax Cup One Day International (ODI) series against Zimbabwe that begins in the city Wednesday, reports UNB.
The BCB also announced a 15-member final national squad Sunday for the five-match ODI series against the visiting African side.
Former national skipper cum Asian Games gold winning Bangladesh captain Mohammad Ashraful, injury-plagued opening batsman Tamim Iqbal and pacer Nazmul Hossain have been included in the 15-men national squad.
Shahriar Nafees and Jahurul Islam, the two top order batsmen of the previous ODI squad who played against New Zealand, have been excluded from the final squad. But both are included as standbys.
Bangladesh will play a five-match ODI series against Zimbabwe - three in Dhaka and two in Chittagong, beginning in the city on December 1 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
The 2nd and 3rd ODIs will be held on December 3 and 6, also at the same stadium.
Zimbabwe will play the remaining two ODI matches against the home side on December 10 and 12 at Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in the port city of Chittagong before their departure on December 13.
