Shakir Ispahani made Honorary Consul of Germany

Mirza Shakir Ispahani has been appointed the new Honorary Consul of Germany in Chittagong by the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, says a press release.
The government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh has approved the appointment of Mr Ispahani and the 'Exequatur' was handed over to him at the Foreign Ministry of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, on July 25, 2007.
Holger Fraider, the German Charge d'Affaires a.i. in Dhaka has officially handed over the Letter of Commission to Mirza Shakir Ispahani in a ceremony yesterday at the German Embassy in Dhaka.
Mirza Shakir Ispahani has a BA (Hons) Law degree from the University of Kent, and an LLM (Hons) from the University of Cambridge, England. He was called to the Bar of England and Wales (Lincoln's Inn) in 1984.
He has a longstanding business career with his family business group, the Ispahani Group of companies. The organisation's business activities include textile and jute industries, real estate, tea cultivation, shipping, poultry, warehousing, travel agency, snack foods production and marketing, and the blending, packaging, distribution and export of fine quality tea.
The Head Office of the Ispahani Group is in Chittagong.
