Shamsher Mubin Chowdhury freed on bail

GAZIPUR, May 22 (UNB): BNP vice-chairman Shamsher Mubin Chowdhury was freed from Kashimpur jail here on bail Friday.
Mr Chowdhury walked out of the jail around 1:30pm, said Mohammad Nasir, jailer of Kashimpur jail.
Only family members were present at the jail gate to receive him.
All documents about his bail reached the jail Thursday night.
BNP vice-chairman Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury was arrested from his Banani Old DOHS residence on January 9 in a case filed over December 24 Bakshibazar violence. On January 14, he was sent to jail.
On May 20, the Supreme Court (SC) upheld the High Court (HC) orders which granted bail to the BNP leader in two criminal cases, clearing the way for his release from jail.
