Sheikh Hasina\\\'s day of arrest today

Today (July 16) is the day of arrest of Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. On this day in 2007, Sheikh Hasina was arrested by the then caretaker government. She was released from the special sub-jail of the Jatiya Sangsad (Parliament) Building on June 11 in 2008, nearly 11 months after her arrest. Marking the day, Awami Jubo League will organise a discussion at the central office of the organisation at 3:00pm on Thursday. Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam BSc will attend the discussion as the chief guest, according to a news agency.
