Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club played to a goalless draw with Sheikh Russell KC in the group A final round match of the GrameenPhone Federation Cup Football at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city Wednesday, reports UNB.
With this draw, both teams secure two points from two matches.
This was the second consecutive draw for the two teams in the group match. Earlier, in their respective opening matches, Sheikh Russell KC played to a goalless draw with Rahmatganj MFS while Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club drew 1-1 with Abahani Limited.
In the day's match, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club got a scoring chance in the 24th minute but Touhidul Alam Sabuj, from inside the danger zone, failed to send the ball home with only opponent goalkeeper Aminul to beat.
After the lemon break, the star-studded Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club was deprived of another certain goal in the 62nd minute when Shahedul Alam Shahed's well-judged shot from inside the D-box off a Sabuj pass went out of play after kissing the cross bar.
