Sheikh Jamal beat Rahmatganj in Fed Cup Football

Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club beat Rahmatganj MFS by 2-1 goals in their last group A match of the GrameenPhone Federation Cup Football at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city Friday, reports UNB.
With the day's result, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club almost ensured their semifinal berth with five points while Rahmatganj MFS securing one point made their exit from the tournament, both playing three matches.
In the day's match, Touhidul Alam Sabuj and Zahid Hossain scored one goal each for Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club which led the first half 1-0. Pasban Molla netted the lone goal for Rahmatganj MFS.
Sabuj scored first for Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi in the 34th minute with a lofted shot from the top of the D-box taking a cross from Emily (1-0).
After the lemon break, Zahid scored the second goal for the new soccer powerhouse Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club in the 55th minute with a header from inside the danger zone off a close pass from Shakil (2-0).
Pasban pulled one back for Rahmatganj MFS in the 60th minute with a placing shot from inside the D-box off a pass from Idris after dodging past Sheikh Jamal custodian Aminul who came forward to clear the ball (2-1).
The day's result could have been 2-2 if Rahmatganj foreign recruit Idris Kasirye's well-judged shot from 15 yards would not return to play after hitting the cross bar in the 75th minute.
Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club took control of the match in the first half but Rahmmatganj MFS played better football dominating over their opponent in the second half.
