Sheikh Jamal emerge group champions to reach semifinal

Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club emerged Group A champions to reach the semi-final of the Walton Women's Football League thrashing Wari Club 13-0 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city Saturday and with all win record, reports UNB. Earlier, National players studded Sheikh Jamal DC beat Dipali Jubo Sangha by 4-0 goals and crushed Arambagh KS by 26- goals. Sheikh Jamal DC will play the first semifinal against Group B runners-up Farashganj on Tuesday while Group B champions Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club will play Dipali Jubo Sangha in the second semifinal on Wednesday. In the day's match, Sheikh Jamal dominated all through against off coloured Wari Club. Sabina Khatun and Nubai Ching Marma scored four goals each. Sabina scored in the 38th, 55th, 78th and 79th minute while Nubai Ching scored in the 20th, 32nd, 58th and 83rd minute. Sharmin Akhter Rupa scored twice in the 4th and 28th minute while Aung Mra Ching Marma, Tahmina Akhter Putul and Mirona netted one each in the 75th, 39th and 22nd minute. Earlier in the day's first match, Dipali Jubo Sangha thrashed Arambagh 9-1 to book a seat for semifinal at the same venue. Asia Khatun Bithi slammed a hat-trick scoring three goals in the 21st, 28th and 34th minute, Jannatul Ferdous Rikta also registered a hat-trick netting three goals in the 56th, 74th and 75th minute. Jaya Chakma, Kaniz Fatema, Bithi and Khaleda Khatun scored the other three in the 11th, 29th and 77th minute.
