Sheikh Jamal taste first victory

Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club tasted the first victory in their 2nd match of the 3rd Women's Club Cricket League beating Azad SC by 26 runs at the Gulshan Youth Club ground in the city Sunday, reports UNB.
Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club conceded 41 runs defeat against Mohammedan SC in their first appearance Wednesday. Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club batted first and scored 118 runs for 2 in a reduced 20-over-a-side match with opener Mahmuda contributing not out 51 runs off 66 balls hitting four boundaries.
National coloured Panna Ghosh (27), Aduri (10) and Chamely Khatun (13 no) were the other contributors for Sheikh Jamal. Champa Chakma and Ritu Moni took one wicket each giving away 15 and 17 runs respectively.
In reply, Azad SC scored 92 runs for 7 in curtailed 20 overs with Rasheda Rahman making 28, Ritu Moni not out 14, Fatema-tuz-Johra 14 and Rubina Sultana 12 runs.
Lily grabbed two wickets for 6 runs while Suborna, Panna Ghosh and Shohely took one wicket apiece. Later, Mahmuda of the winning team was adjudged player of the match.
In the day's other match, Gulshan Youth Club made a good start beating Kalabagan KC by six wickets in a low scoring match at the City Club ground.
Kalabagan KC batted first after winning the toss and were dismissed for just 33 runs in 17.3 overs with the team highest 13 runs came from extras.
Happy Alam and Tajia Akhter claimed three wickets each conceding 7 and 14 runs respectively.
In reply, Gulshan Youth Club easily reached the target making match-winner 34 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 9.5 overs with Samapty Biswas making 10 and Tajia Akhter 6 runs.
Nurjahan Sultana took two wickets for 13 runs. Later, Tajia Akhter of the winning side was adjudged player of the match.
