Sheikh Russel move to 3rd slot in points table

Sheikh Russel KC moved to the third slot in the points table of the GrameenPhone Bangladesh League when they notched a 3-1 goals victory over Arambagh KS at the Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) in the city Wednesday, reports UNB.
Sheikh Russell KC and holders Abahani Limited both have 35 points, but the former has better goal difference though played one match more than Abahani Limited.
Russian forward Eduard Shaknevich put Sheikh Russel KC ahead in the 26th minute with a powerful left footer from inside the danger zone after taking a pass from Ghanaian forward Moro Mohammed at the left flank (1-0).
Nigerian forward Subair Mohammed Omobolaji levelled margin for Arambagh KS in the 39th minute with a placing shot from inside the D-box after he raced with the ball from midfield in a solo effort (1-1).
After the resumption, Sheikh Russel KC again took lead when Shaknevic scored his second goal in the 47th minute with a header from inside the danger zone after taking a cross from Monaem Khan Raju (2-1).
Nigerian Effiong Duke completed the winners' tally in the 69th minute with a well-judged shot from vantage position capitalizing on a left wing pass from Shaknevic (3-1).
With the day's result, Sheikh Russel KC secured 35 points while Arambagh KS remained at 8th position with 17 points, both playing 17 matches.
