Sheikh Russel reach quarters eiliminating Muktijoddha

Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra advanced to the quarterfinal of the season's curtain raiser football meet, Walton Federation Cup Football Tournament, with one match to sparer, reports UNB.
They eliminated all-losers Muktijoddha Sangsad KC by 2-0 goals in a Group C match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city on Wednesday.
With the day's feat, Sheikh Russel KC dominated the Group C list securing full three points from one match with better goal margin.
Holders Dhaka Abahani Limited, also assured the quarterfinal berth from group, also with full three points from one match, beating Muktijoddha SKC by 1-0 goal earlier.
Muktijoddha Sangsad KC will play defending champions Dhaka Abahani Limited in the last group match on November 3 (Saturday) to decide the group champions.
After dominating the match for most of the proceeding, especially in the first half, Abdul Quyyum Sentu's men were collapsed in the last 20-minute hurricane.
Nigerian forward Raphael put Russel KC ahead in the 70th minute by pushing the ball right side, near advancing Mukti custodian (1-0).
Brazilian striker Alex sealed the fate of the match in the stoppage time of the last half (92nd minute) by a right footer, off a Raphael shot pass (2-0) to guide Saiful Bari Titu's team to the knock out stage at the coffin of the freedom fighters team.
