Sheikh Russel split point with MSC in BPL football

Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra failed to take their home ground advantage as they, despite taking lead, were forced to play a 1-1 goal draw by ten-man Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited in the TVS Bangladesh Premier League football held on Monday at Bashundhara Sports Complex in the city, reports BSS.
In the day's match, Jewel gave Sheikh Russel KC a deserving 22nd minute lead which they maintained till the 87th minute.
At one stage, it was seemed that Sheikh Russel KC were going to win the match, but it was Mohammedan's Jafar who broke the heart of Sheikh Russel's fans scoring a much-needed goal in the 88th minute of the match, denying Sheikh Russel's victory.
Sujon of Mohammedan was shown red card by the referee following his double yellow cards in the match.
With the day's outcome, Mohammedan bagged 18 points from 12 matches while Sheikh Russel KC collected 11 points playing the same number of matches.
Earlier, in the first phase, the two teams also split point playing to a 1-1 goal draw held at Bir Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.
Meanwhile, Chittagong Abahani Limited lost valuable points as they were forced to play a goalless draw by Rahmatganj Muslim and Friend Society in the TVS Bangladesh Premier League football held Monday at Sylhet district Stadium in Sylhet.
In the day's match, both the teams got several scoring chances but failed to convert any of those into a goal.
