Sheikh Selim freed on bail

Awami League (AL) presidium member and former minister Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim was released on bail from the prison cell of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Monday noon, reports UNB.
Talking to journalists immediately after his release, Sheikh Selim demanded withdrawal of the state of emergency before the parliamentary polls and permanent release of AL president Sheikh Hasina.
Later, he went to the Banani graveyard and offered fateha there seeking peace for the departed souls of the victims of the massacre on August 15, 1975.
On May 28 last year, the joint forces arrested Sheikh Selim from his Banani residence in an extortion case filed by industrialist Azam J Chowdhury with Gulshan thana. He was also sued in another corruption case. He got bail in both the cases.
