Sherpur road mishap kills 4

SHERPUR, Oct 16 (UNB): Four people were killed and 15 others injured as a bus tumbled into a roadside ditch at Jalalpur in Nakla upazila on Sunday. The deceased were identified as Ainuddin, 60, and Dudu Mia, 35, of Katiadi upazila in Kishoreganj and Ainuddin alias Anu, 55, and Kalu Mia,40, of Monohardi upazila of Narsingdi. Officer-in-charge of Nakla thana Fashiur Rahman said the accident occurred as a Kishoreganj-bound bus from Sherpur fell into the ditch at 1pm as its driver lost control over the steering, killing four people on the spot and injuring 15 others. The injured were admitted to Sadar Hospital and the upazila health complex. On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to a local hospital morgue for autopsy.The victims were returning home after attending a three-day annual urs (religious feast) of Pir Badruduzza Haider alias Doza Pir at Morshidpur Darbar Sharif at Lochhmonpur in sadar upazila of the district.
