Sherpur UZ polls on Aug 24

Sherpur Sadar Upazila (UZ) election will be held on August 24 following the withdrawal of a stay order of the High Court. District Election Commission Mokhlesur Rahman on Wednesday confirmed the new schedule. The election was originally scheduled for March 23 along with 91 other upazilas. The election to the upazila was stayed by the High Court following a writ petition on delimitation and flaws in the electoral rolls of the upazila. The Higher Court withdrew its stay order early last month, according to a news agency.
