Shibir man jailed for subversive activities

SATKHIRA, Mar 5 (UNB): A mobile court here Tuesday sentenced a leader of the local unit of Islami Chhatra Shibir to two years' jail term for committing subversive activities.
Police arrested Masud Rana, 24, president of Kushulia union unit of the student front of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami from Chanchai village in Kaliganj Upazila at about 8:30 pm Monday night reportedly while he was holding a clandestine meeting along with his associates.
The arrestee was produced before the mobile court led by executive magistrate Sayed Faruk Ahmed.
