Shifting of customs office to Nilphamari town demanded

NILPHAMARI, Apr 5: Speakers at a views exchange meeting at Rajshahi demanded shifting of local customs office to Nilphamari district headquarters from Sayedpur town.
The demand was made by representatives of Nilphamari district at a pre-budget meeting recently for the financial year 2010-2011.
The meeting was held at the Chamber office and presided over by Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Abu Bakar Ali.
National Board of Revenue Secretary (Internal Resource Division) Dr Nasim Uddin Ahmed, Nilphamari Chamber of Commerce of Industry President Abdul Wahed Sarkar and all the chamber presidents of 16 districts of the northern region placed a set of recommendations, including reopening of Chilahati land Customs office and providing immigration facilities from there.
