Shimulia-Kawrakandi ferry service resumes

Ferry service on the Shimulia-Kawrakandi route in Munshiganj district resumed on Sunday morning after 20 hours of its disruption for rough weather. SM Ashikuzzaman, assistant manager of BIWTC in Shimulia, said the ferry, launch and speedboat services were suspended on Saturday morning for strong current in the Padma River triggered by the cyclonic storm ‘Komen’. Launch and speedboat services also resumed for several times but had to be suspended again for strong current in the river around 9am, added the official, according to a news agency.
