Shimulia-Kewrakandi ferry services resume

Movement of ferries in Shimulia-Kewrakandi route in Padma River resumed on Friday morning after 9-hour’s of suspension due to dense fog in the important waterways since Thursday night. Shekhar Chandra Roy, assistant manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) at Shimulia Ghat (terminal), said river communication on the route was suspended at 11:00pm on Thursday due to poor visibility caused by thick fog. Ferry communications in the river route was restored around 10:00am on Friday, BIWTA sources said, according to a news agency.
