Shippers’ council helps local traders do business with foreign partners

The Shippers' Council of Bangladesh has been working to facilitate the export and import businesses for the local traders with the foreign ones, said Md Rezaul Karim after his re-election as the chief of the council recently.
Rezaul Karim was elected Chairman of the Shippers' Council of Bangladesh (SCB) for a third term (2018-2019), says a statement.
The announcement came at the SCB's 36th Annual General Meeting (AGM), held at Dhaka Club on Saturday.
Ariful Ahsan was re-elected Vice Chairman while Md Munir Hossain was elected also as Vice Chairman of the SCB for 2018-2019.
Arzu Rahman Bhuiya, Kamran Uddin, Afsar Uddin Ahmed, A K M Aminul Mannan (Khokon), Mohammad Shahjahan Khan, Syed Md Bakhtiar, Md Nurussafa Babu and Ziaul Islam were elected members of the board of directors.
Rezaul Karim, who is the proprietor of S N Jute International, congratulated the outgoing office-bearers and directors for their contribution to the council.
Karim said there are 213 members in the council including 97 ordinary and 116 associate members.
He thanked the secretariat of the SCB, saying they worked hard for smooth flow of international trade and for representing this council in all related national and international forum.
He also urged all to extend their sincere cooperation and support to the SCB.
