Monday, 27 August 2007

Adviser for Communications and Shipping MA Matin Sunday asked the officials concerned to work with efficiency and in a coordinated manner for ensuring proper and timely implementation of the projects under the annual development programme (ADP), reports BSS.
He expressed hope that the officials would be more active for the implementation of the projects, as, from now on, time of implementing any project will not be extended without any specific reason.
The adviser was presiding over a meeting to review the progress of Shipping Ministry's development projects under the ADP. It was held at the conference room of the Shipping Ministry.
The meeting was told that the Shipping Ministry has 15 projects under the ADP, out of which four were funded by the ministry itself for implementation during the 2007-08 fiscal year.
The meeting also discussed the progress of various projects, including the dredging of Gabkhan Channel linking Dhaka-Mongla and Chittagong-Mongla river routes, the second phase of making the river route around Dhaka city operational, the eviction of encroachment on the Buriganga, the appointment of investor-cum-operator at Double Mooring Container Terminal in Chittagong Port, and the construction of a container terminal at Pangaon.
