Short naps can increase productivity

Monday, 10 September 2018

Due to the hectic urban lifestyle, people often deprive themselves of getting adequate sleep. This is why there is high incidence of health complications among adults. If such a situation persists, these complications can become chronic in the long run.
Adequate sleep helps one to be active and productive throughout the day. During the daytime, a short nap can be a powerful tool to restore someone's energy. Usually, after lunch, most people feel lethargic and lose their concentration and attention span.
But in Bangladesh, taking a nap during work hours is frowned upon. Others tend to consider a person sleeping during work hours as 'lazy'. But if one can take a short nap for 15 to 20 minutes, it will re-energise him or her. A short nap can also make someone become more alert mentally and physically and improve their moods.
Modern science has proved that a short nap during the day is very healthy and it also increases an individual's alertness, attention, and vigour. Winston Churchill, John F Kennedy, Napoleon, Albert Einstein, and many other famous personalities were among those who often took short naps.
