Shot by BSF, cattle trader dies

A Bangladeshi cattle trader who was shot by members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Balatari border point in Fulbari upazila of Kurigram early Friday died at Rangpur Medical College Hospital on Sunday. The victim, Shamsul Haque, 25, son of Kesmat Ali of Balatari village in the upazila, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital in the evening. Locals said a BSF patrol team of Notkobari camp opened fire on a group of cattle traders while returning to Bangladesh with cattle from India through Balatari border point in the early hours of last Friday. Shamsul who received bullet injuries in the head was taken to RMCH where he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday’s evening, according to a news agency.
