\\\'Showcase BD-14\\\' to attract more Malaysian investments

Country's entrepreneurs want to uphold Bangladesh as a lucrative business hub and highlight its increasing economic diversity through the 3rd ‘Showcase Bangladesh-2014’ to be held in Malaysia on Nov 14-16. Apart from branding Bangladesh abroad, the trade show will help attract Malaysian investment to prospective areas that will contribute towards reducing the trade gap between the 2 countries, organisers told a press conference in the city. ‘Bangladesh is a country of hope, Bangladesh is a country of opportunities and possibilities. We have a big market of 160 million people,’ said Chairman of the fair organising committee Syed Nurul Islam. Nurul Islam, also former president of Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI) and CEO of the Well Group of Industries. He said the objectives of the show are to brand Bangladesh, promote Bangladesh and attract more Malaysian investments to Bangladesh. ‘Time has come to tell the world about positive Bangladesh,’ he said adding that Bangladesh is now the 2nd largest economy in the South Asia. Nurul Islam said Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed and Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali will take part in the event, according to a news agency.
