Shrimp fry worth Tk 0.9m seized

BAGERHAT, July 20 (UNB): Coastguards and Fisheries Department officials in a joint drive seized a truck loaded with shrimp fries worth Tk 0.9 million (9.0 lakh) from Digraj area on Khulna-Mongla highway Thursday.
Acting on secret information they conducted the drive and seized three lakh fries when those were being taken to Foila bazar for sale.
Coast Guard sources said fishermen collected the fries from various rivers and canals of the Sundarbans illegally. But none was arrested in this connection.
