SI killed over land dispute in Rajbari

RAJBARI, Nov 10 (UNB) - A sub-inspector of Detective Branch of Police was killed and three others were injured over land dispute at Paturia village in Kalukhali upazila on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Abdur Razzak, 50, an officer of Narayanganj DB office.
Police said an altercation ensued between Razzak and his neighbour Hasem Ali when Hasem along with his men was allegedly building a house on the land of Razzak.
At one stage, Hasem along with his supporters swooped on Razzak and beat him up with sticks, leaving him critically injured at around 8 am.
He was rushed to a local hospital and later he succumbed to his injuries on way to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
Other three people- Amjad Hossain, a physician, Golam Nabi and Shahidul Islam were also sustained injuries and admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
Outraged by the incident, local people of the village damaged the house of Hasem Ali and later set fire to it. On information, fire fighters from Pangsha rushed in and extinguished the fire.
Superintendent of Police Rezaul Haque aided by additional police visited the spot.
A case was filed.
