SIBL Gulshan Branch shifted

The Gulshan Branch of Social Islami Bank Limited (SIBL) was shifted to Nafi Tower, 53, Gulshan-1 from 106, Gulshan Avenue Sunday.
Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Abul Kalam Azad formally inaugurated the operation of the branch at the new premises.
The Minister said banking sector will play a major role in the making of digital Bangladesh within 2021 and skilled human resources will help to reach the goal.
He urged SIBL to disburse loans on easy conditions to low income group of people.
SIBL chairman Alhaj Nasiruddin said the bank will construct 250 to 300 houses to rehabilitate Aila-affected families in coastal areas.
He said SIBL is the only bank which pays the zakat. But there remains a 45 per cent tax upon zakat money, which prevents the bank from conducting many welfare-oriented activities.
Vice chairman Md. Sayedur Rahman, SIBL Directors Humayun Kabir Khan, Kamaluddin Ahmed, Prof. Majedul Islam chairman of Channel-I were present as special guests.
