SIBL opens 28th branch at Savar

Social Investment Bank Limited (SIBL) opened its 28th branch at Savar Thursday, said a press release.
SIBL Chairman Abdul Awal Patwary formally inaugurated the new branch as the chief guest.
Chaired by SIBL Managing Director KM Ashaduzzaman, the inaugural ceremony was attended, among others, by its vice-chairmen Nasiruddin and Md Sayedur Rahman, directors Kamaluddin Ahmed and Humayun Kabir Khan as the special guests, and Additional Managing Director Abu Sadek Md Sohel.
SIBL senior executives, clients and local elite were also present on the occasion.
The bank's chairman said the difference between the SIBL and other traditional banks is Shariah.
As an Islamic bank, SIBL works for the welfare of the poor people.
He appreciated the three-sector model of the bank and urged the people to provide co-operation to implement the programmes of the SIBL.
He also lauded the bank's state-of-the-art information technology (IT) including on-line banking services of the bank.
The SIBL managing director said Cash Waqf is a unique product of the bank, which may contribute to the development of people and SIBL is the pioneer to implement the programme.
The MD narrated the three-sector model of the bank before the audience and expressed the hope that through implementing the unique programme the SIBL could contribute to a great extent to the country's economy.
From the beginning the bank is providing electronic banking services to its clients, he said.
