Bangladeshi celebrated golfer Siddikur Rahman returned to the winning note clinching the inaugural US$60,000 City Bank American Express Dhaka Open Golf title carding two-under-par 70 in the 4th and final round at Kurmitola Golf Course in the city on Saturday, reports UNB.
The 33-year-old golfer took the advantage of his home course knowledge as he shot a two-under-par 70 to win his second Asian Development Tour (ADT) title at the Kurmitola Golf Course after his maiden ADT crown in 2011.
Sweden's Malcolm Kokocinski posted a 67 to finish the second while Shankar Das of India, who was trailing overnight leader Siddikur by two shots, settled for third after returning with a disappointing 73.
Siddikur ended a five-year title drought following his second Asian Tour win at the 2013 Hero Indian Open. Since then, he has struggled with a serious back injury but believes this victory will provide an extra spring in his step ahead of a busy 2018 Asian Tour Schedule.
Siddikur, who aggregated 12-under-par 204 in the 3rd round on Friday finished with an aggregate of 14-under-par (68, 66, 70 70) 274 to win the title as well as to receive a prize money of US Dollar 10,000.
He made four birdies and two bogeys in the 4th and final round on Saturday to win the 2nd Asian Development Tour title after winning his maiden title in 2011.
